About Us

We are a community focused ministry that is centered on faith, family, and love.  Flat Creek MB Church located in East Carondelet, IL, not far off the banks of the Mississippi river, is the oldest African American Baptist Church in the State of Illinois. In July 1963, the Antioch District Sunday School and Training Union Congress (ADSTUC) of St. Louis, Missouri notified Rev. Logan (the Pastor at the time) that Flat Creek was the oldest church in this area, at One Hundred Fifty-Four (154) years old.  At its 15th Annual Session, held July 29-30, 1963, the ADSTUC presented Flat Creek with a Certificate of Award commemorating this historic and blessed occasion.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
