SWIL Resource Foundation

Southwestern Illinois Resource Foundation (SWIL) is a Christian-based organization established in October 2021. Members of the Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church, one of the oldest Black Baptist churches in the state of Illinois, formed SWIL out of a need to provide families and individuals of the surrounding communities with all available resources to help improve the quality and sustainability of everyday life.

SWIL is located at 902 State Street in the rural community of East Carondelet, Illinois, in the southwestern part of the state. Because of its size, East Carondelet does not offer its residents many of the services or products that a larger community would have, such as grocery stores, retail shops, gas stations, or community outreach facilities.

SWIL is near the surrounding communities of Cahokia Heights, Dupo, and Columbia, Illinois, and is across the river from St. Louis (South County), MO.  SWIL’s services are offered to all families and individuals of these communities and other communities located in Southwestern Illinois.  The Board is unconditionally and committed to its mission and vision.
